Learn to shoot aggressively

One of the best drills for performance and defensive utility is the Bill drill. The Bill drill works several fundamentals and hard skills all at once.

For someone who carries everyday, it’s critical to train to use your gun in defensive situations. The Bill drill is an essential drill to help build confidence in quick decision making and aggressive shooting. The key hard skills it works includes a fast and efficient concealed draw with a consistent index. It works vision, finding a focal point and maintaining hard target focus. It tests your grip durability, structure and pressure, along with trigger speed. And you build expert recoil management to shoot multiple rounds with speed, accuracy and accountability.

When faced with an immediate threat, you have severely limited reaction time. The Bill drill will help you to maintain threat focus and develop a fast, safe and efficient draw and index. It’ll enhance your ability to react with urgency, gain a fast sight picture and hit your target.

When you don’t know how many rounds it’ll take to stop a threat, how much time you have to react, or how much distance there will be between you and a threat, this drill builds your ability to shoot aggressively, combining speed and accuracy.

Bill drill: From the draw @ 7 yards, put 6 rounds in the A zone in 2 seconds or under. If you are new to this drill, start at 3 yards, move to 5, then 7. It’s an ammo eater, so plan accordingly.
